Today in the SAILOR history: Reading 2004 & release of the SAILOR biography

  • Mood:

It's 5 years ago that SAILOR played at "Marvellous '04" at Wellington County Park (near Reading), UK, today. The concert was an open air festival/"picknick in the park" concert, organised by Peter Lincoln and his crew from www.marvellousfestivals.com. (Meanwhile this festival has become a well-known anual event!)
Despite the rain that day we saw Peter, Rob, Phil and Grant at their best. Christel and I who had travelled all the way from Germany to see this show stayed with SAILOR fan Linda in Southampton and managed to see not only SAILOR but also a great gig of Pete & Hugh (yes, "our" Peter) on the day before.
In addition to this, this day was also the release day of "A Glass Of Champagne - The Official SAILOR Story" written by James McCarraher. James brought the books for the band to sign, so that we all proudly carried our first editions home with us.
Plus a great time with all the other English SAILOR fans. What more could one want?! Also, Linda and I went down in history as "The Robettes" with our new Panama hats.
Absolutely marvellous...
